A diary of the thought process behind my investment decisions
Not sure if I should sell my longs into any rally this week? Any thoughts? The consensus seems to be either ..the market recovers a bit them a leg lower..or we have a decent bounce, up say 5-8%, then say in a trading range.I'm leaning towards the latter. I've watched these markets for a number of years and after a straight move in either direction ..generally there is a reprieve. Unless there is more specific bad news...we slowly go up? Any thoughts?
Took a nibble on the long side myself back on Friday, at about SP500 1020. Not planning to keep it, but I needed something to sell if we have a bounce, and I think we will. Sentiment is universally negative, but it should be negative if we're heading into a Japan type stagnation, as I believe.
You have described my predicament. Im expecting a terrible economy but the universal pessimism usually means that the market is ok.
