A diary of the thought process behind my investment decisions
Added To Treasury Long
I have added to my treasury long based on the universal bearishness towards treasuries. There is so much hand wringing over the auction this week that anything but a disaster should lead to a rally.

This news about the govt providing as much capital as FNM and FRE needs for the next three years.
Would you consider this the beginning of the next episode for listed mbs investing entities and real estate general?
I think the Treasury was worried that once the Fed's Treasury buying program ends in March that mortgage rates would go up.
I don't think that FNM or FRE need more money. They have huge losses but the Treasury has already allocated them enough. This is a confidence boosting exercise to ensure spreads on FNM and FRE debt dont blow out once the Treasury buying stops.
I don't always play stocks that are at 52 week lows.
Sometimes I play stocks that were recently strong, had a good pop on fundamentally positive news, and then pulled back to a point low enough to where I think I can make some money.

I meant Agency buying program not Treasury buying program.
